And still, I don't write
Silliness to combat the creativity saboteurs
My very wise coach, Elizabeth Bohannon (of the substack, Walk With Me) once told me that I approach writing with too much heaviness and that I should play with it. So after almost a month of running away at the sight of my laptop, here is a dose of playfulness.
My dog barks My baby cries My toddler throws a fit And so I don't write The dishes are dirty The closet is a sight My phone pings every second And so I don't write I'm sleepy I'm itching for a fight It's 7 '0 clock And so I don't write The baby had an earache Gave me a big fright The notebook is too clean And so I don't write I have a nanny The room is sunny and bright My laptop is fully charged And still, I don't write My baby daddy Takes the kids on a walk The dog is sleeping And still, I don't write I'm frightened The gremlins say I stink Instagram is calling Maybe tomorrow, I will write. Any resemblance to Maya Angelou is purely intentional.

Oh, yea! Play some more, dear one. I love this little ditty. Love the echoes of the great Ms. Angelou.
Love it!!!!
